Sudan politicians publicly flogged for disturbing order

A Sudanese opposition political party has alleged that three of its leading members had been publicly flogged twenty times each after a criminal court found them quity of disturbing public order by calling for the boycott of Aprils presidential election.
According to the sudanese congreess party seceretary general Abdul Qayoom Awad al-sid the humiliating verdit was executed immediately after the omdurman criminal court following the verdit against the parties vice chair for political affairs Mastoor Ahmed Mohammed and other two party officials.

Analyst says sudan imposes strict islamic laws which prescribe flogging as purnishment usually for morality realted issues.

The three were accused of calling for boycott during an April meeting.

TVC NEWS [ALGIERS] - At least 18 people have been killed in clashes between Arabs and Berbers in Algeria's desert town of Ghrdaia, with several businesses burned down, medical sources and state media said Wednesday.
